Assist Civil Engineers with Industrial Track Design Requirements
Track layout designs for Industrial tracks, based on motive power and rail equipment used, requires:
- Selecting the proper track curve radius and tangent length
- Selecting appropriate turnout size
- Operating clearance to obstructions such as doorways, platforms, poles, etc. to meet State and Federal requirements
- Specifying grades for earthwork
- Recommending track mobiles capacities
- Recommending track materials suitable for the intended service
- Provide inspection of new track construction to assure that it is constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications
